- COVID-19 Online Learning Opportunities & Communication
May 1, 2020
Dear Parents and Students,
We continue to receive guidance from the Department of Education during this school closure due to COVID-19. To replace the requirement of 1,080 instructional hours for each school year we are providing voluntary continuous learning enrichment opportunities. In order to get to these hours we will be continuing these learning opportunities until our regular last school day of May 27, 2020. We continue to encourage all of our students to engage in learning either electronically or through paper packets. Our teachers will continue to provide Zoom sessions and continue contacting and engaging with their students.
Some have asked about getting personal items. Each building is currently working on a plan to get these items out to parents and students at the end of the school year. Part of these plans will provide a chance for our 6-12 students to return any computer owned by the school. Mrs. Freund has communicated with those families in which we had medicine for their children and she has provided opportunities for the medicine to be picked up safely. If you still need medicine, I would suggest you contact Mrs. Freund.
We continue to follow the Public Health guidelines to ensure the safety of our staff and students. Our principals are working on creating plans for each of their staff to allow them an opportunity to gather their personal items and give teachers some time to prepare their rooms for summer. These plans will include protocols to meet all guidelines.
Early next week we will be releasing plans to help recognize our graduates.
Be safe and remain healthy!
